Riding for Rangers

Riding to Honor. Riding to Remember.

Riding for Rangers.

We are humbled to remember the Fallen Rangers and Special Operators of the Battle for Robert's Ridge on the 20th year commemoration of the fight on Takur Ghar, Afghanistan.

Riding for Rangers is a month-long cycling fitness and fundraiser leading up to September's Six Gap Century Ride in Dahlonega, Georgia. OnPoint 1-1- and GallantFew team up to provide participants an opportunity to get fit for the arduous climbs of Six Gap while raising funds for U.S. Army Ranger scholarships and transition programs.

This year Riding for Rangers commemorates the 20-year anniversary of the courage and sacrifice exhibited at the Battle of Takur Ghar, Afghanistan on March 3-4, 2002 during Operation Anaconda. Better known as Roberts Ridge, the fierce fight eliminated al Qaeda resistance on the ridgeline at a cost of the lives of seven U.S. special operators. All US special operators that day lived up to the Ranger Creed to "never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy".

This September 1 -30, we ride to remember:

CPL Matthew A. Commons, born 1981, Boulder City, Nevada
